Agricultural Hermitage

Description

Our hermitage is wrapped in bands slowly restarted to agriculture because here it is nature that reigns supreme. This house is our attempt to learn from her how to feed our lives with the energy that is there (she does it very well). We point out that the hermitage is naturally a place for social distancing.

Space

We live this house as our agricultural hermitage. That is, a place to nourish both body and spirit with apparent solitude in the midst of intense wild life. We want to share this beauty by welcoming guests from time to time. We do not offer a tourist stay but a direct experience of happy degrowth,
We think that a week can be a sufficient period to have a meaningful experience and measure ourselves with that rhythm that accompanied our ancestors for millennia and that today is so far from city life.
It is a rustic house that we have totally renovated with simple materials, raw and cooked earth, slate (we are in the Valfontanabuona, that of slate), wood, wool.
The heating is with wood. Solar energy is the host for electricity and water heating. 220 V is only available for refrigerator power supply and can be used to power a computer. The kitchen is equipped with a gas hob, a refrigerator (height 80 cm).
In front of the house we have set up a large terrace with a pergola. It is an extremely lived-in place because it overlooks a vast panorama of the mountains and also of the sea (in the distance).
The house is literally surrounded by trees, cherry trees, apple trees.
There are 2 double bedrooms, one with divisible beds, and a children's bedroom.

Things to Know

The house is fully available as well as access to the garden and all the land surrounding it. The last km of the road is unpaved and is therefore not suitable for very low cars. Alternatively, you can leave the car at the beginning of the dirt road and travel the last stretch in about 10 minutes.
The house and the 10,000 square meters of land are surrounded by a fence to prevent animals from entering the cultivation and also allows you to leave your dog free.

Other things to keep in mind
We do not offer the wifi service but the 4G network reaches the hermitage. The connection quality, for example, was acceptable for smart working during our lockdown.

Neighborhood

The hermitage is surrounded by woods and aromatic plants. Wild animals are easy to spot. Fallow deer, roe deer, wild boar, fox, badger, pheasant, partridge, dormouse, ...
The small village of Lezzaruole di San Marco d'Urri is 2 km away. Gattorna is the first village where all kinds of shops are found. It's about 25 minutes away ().
About 10 minutes by car you can reach the Urri stream. A very wild and unknown environment to tourists (even to the locals) you can practice diving and swimming in small natural pools carved by the stream, a rather sporty canyoning path between waterfalls and rocky walls.

Walking along the historic "via del sale", about 1 hour's walk, you reach the Alta Via dei Monti Liguri, a path that runs through the whole of Liguria passing the top of the mountains.
